RE: New B------has anyone checked out the "krystal"

All Flash site? Always a sign that Marketing is running the show. Assuming it's the one in Brea, CA, they are known for flashy limos, stretch-anything and frequently cracked chassis. Least when I lived down there.

RE: Vacuum Gages For MPG - How To Install? Which One? Etc?

30 years ago I installed extra gages, including a vacuum gage, but today everything has EFI and something like a Scangauge is the way to go.

RE: One More Thing to Remember

I was also raised in a windy area (just south of The Windy City). I remember stepping out of the house, having the door ripped out of my hand and being blown off of the porch into the bushes.

RE: Space saving storage idea

This is an old Boy Scout trick. Put things in plastic bags and put everything at the top of your pack, so you can see it.

RE: Will not start when hot

90% chance it's the starter motor failing. The clicking is the relay activating.

RE: Why did we NOT get a letter of recall From Fleetwood?

Because most dealers don't bother to file the paperwork.

RE: Campgrounds turning away business

I find the 2-night minimum rather strange. I rarely ever stay in one spot. I have an RV to travel and see things. Imagine a hotel demanding a minimum stay.

RE: Excited, but bummed, about trip

Too bad you can't tow or trailer the car and take the slow way back.

RE: Breed Id DNA test

DNA testing can verify the sire & dame, but not the breed. It does the former by comparing the DNA of a dog to the supposed parents.
Only an handful for dogs had had their DNA fully sequenced and there is no database of the differences between breeds. Identifying the breed by an absolute reading is at least a decade off.

RE: How Do You "Spread" Pipes Enough To Get New Drain Valve In?

I had to disconnect the Y from both valves to get clearance. Decided to replace the black tank valve as well, as I had it apart.

RE: Best Free Hard Drive Eraser

The XP format process does NOT erase the disk.
DBAN using the DoD standard will wipe the disk, and then do multiple write-overs and erases.

RE: DIY Rear slide out on a B

Another possibility would be to add a fabric foldout like they use on hybrid trailers. That way you wouldn't have to remove the doors, just open them & fold out your bed. You could put brackets on the doors to help support the bottom of the foldout.

RE: Taking 91-year old parents to Washington DC: Advice?

Time of year? NOT summer, very hot, very humid. Fall is much better and there are fewer tourists.

RE: Before it becomes a lawn decoration

Lots of possibilities for mounting a TC on a trailer. You can mount it forward and have the rear for toys. Mount it further back and make the area under the cab-over and sides into storage. Shoot, if it's tall enough, the area under the cab-over could be used as a covered patio.

RE: Window Tint-Keeping Cool

Look for a Low-E (emissivity) film that is designed for use on double pane windows. This is much better than just tint. The Low-E films block infra-red radiation (heat) and keep things cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter.

RE: Must Have vs Nice to Have :?

Your list of must haves is good and will narrow your search by a large factor. Considering you'll be in one of the three locations 90% of the time you aren't driving, don't compromise on any of them. (When I buy a car, I put the driver's seat all the way back & then get into the seat behind it.)
15" wheels give you more of a weight margin, but independent suspension on a TT is bogus. Ditto, alloy wheels.
Two people 6 cu.ft. is plenty. Cut the pizza.
Buy a TV separately & you can move it around.
Don't let the nice to have creep over to your must have list and discount anything a salespeople says by 80%. If it costs more, 250%.

RE: GM Colorado Diesel?

MUCH closer to what I want in a 4x4 than anything available here. Can't find the actual size or weight, though.
Can't see GM bringing a 4 cylinder in though. Too many people actually want one.

RE: 5-in-1 Power Station - Anyone have one?

I have something similar, about the same size battery. It has its uses, but it isn't a replacement for a real generator. It won't start even a small RV and is marginal for a car. It could run a small (6") fan over-night, but that's about it.
I've used mine as an emergency light & to jump my motor cycle. It has a 400 watt inverter, but that is good for about 25-30 minutes at max.
